Kaumatua Heating Application Form

Purpose

The purpose of the Kaumatua Heating Application is to manaaki our Kaumatua / Kuia so their well-being is enhanced during te wa makariri.  

Criteria

If you have an electrical or gas heating system in your home, you can apply for a one off grant which will be equivalent to the cost of the firewood and including the subsidy as set out in Distribution 1 & 2. You must include a copy of your heating and or gas bill as evidence.    

Distribution

1. Kaumatua / Kuia are delivered to their home at no cost 2m3 of split firewood
   
   

2. At the discretion of the Board after the free load has been granted, a second application can be made for firewood where the kaumatua may receive a 50% discount off the 2m3 firewood costs.

Payment

1. Payment to be made directly to the predetermined wood supplier
   
   

2. For 50% discount load Kuia and Kaumatua will organise payment direct to supplier
   
   

3. For the electricity contribution payment will be made directly to the applicant
